CROCKPOT   &   BUTCH FEMME FATALE

HERE WE GO! Opening night and outta the gates with two great indie groups– Crockpot and Butch Femme Fatale.

Crockpot has been performing together for almost a decade in one form or another. Rebecca Feldman, Jason Hays, Jessica Zodrow, and Luke Zwanziger are like family now and love how improv brings the community together. That’s why they produce Potluck, a monthly improv jam and showcase at Kennedy School. Follow them on Insta @potluckimprovpdx.

Exterior – Night. Butch Femme Fatale enters. Crime ensues. An unlikely detective is forced to come to terms with the question: Is 1940’s Noir actually comedy? Cory Merrill, Anne Jones, Kerry McPherson, and Stephen Burgess take turns playing a stereotypical hard boiled detective figuring out a devious noir plot made up on the spot. Insta @bffimprov

FOX AND THE HOUND   &   BROAD SELECTION

Fox and the Hound (Jessica Zodrow & Chris Williams) is an improv duo built on sharp instincts, playful tension, and the joy of chasing an idea wherever it wants to go. With a mix of quick wit, grounded characters, and unexpected turns, Jessica and Chris create scenes that feel both wildly funny and surprisingly human.

Broad Selection (Katie Nguyen, Betse Green, Lisa Brousseau, Janet Scanlon, Whitney Johnson, Adrienne Flagg, Kerry Leek, Mariah Muñoz), a powerhouse of some of Portland’s most experienced improv performers and teachers. The troupe formed at the Brody Theater in 2003 (as Girls! Girls! Girls!), and they were featured artists at the 2017 and 2019 Stumptown Improv Festivals. The work of Broad Selection always centers around sharing true personal stories. Their current format builds off a rhythmic presentation of stories that inspire improvised tales that are fun, witty, and often quite moving.

LOVELY BRUISE  &  THE MONDAYS

Lauren Russell is a Curious Comedy mainstage performer and one of the current hosts of its Friday Night Fights. Bryan Fernando is an internationally touring performer/teacher. Together they form the duo Lovely Bruise: they leap, bound, laugh, banter, limbo, beguile, levitate, bounce, linger, backtrack, love, befriend, learn, befuddle, lunge, backflip, loiter, bamboozle, and lift back the layers behind reality. So LOCK IN and BUCKLE UP.

The Mondays are an ensemble-based, character focused, long form improv group you have seen throughout the metro area. Watch them weave their magic at Bridge City Improv this night!

BULK FISH  /  DUCK MUDDLE  /  BENATAR

Bulk Fish is Whitney Johnson and Phil Incorvia, who bring a combined nearly-fifty-years of improv experience in many other combinations of people, places, and things. They are alumni of the Brody Theater Main stage (RIP) and spend their time off stage eating great food, hanging out with children (theirs), and walking a feisty rescue mutt (hers). They also happen to be in a relationship. There are lots of kinds of relationships. Theirs is romantic. Sometimes, they overcomplicate things.

Duck Muddle is Whitney Johnson and Kerry Leek – two improvisers who are always trying to organize their ducks into nice, neat rows, but the ducks never seem to get the memo and end up wandering off. Whitney and Kerry have been performing on stage together and separately in various groups and ensembles longer than their birdbrains can remember. Come wade through life’s messy moments with them in a dynamic improv set that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Kerry Leek and Kristen Schier are Benatar, two experienced improvisers who love to play organically, create memorable characters, and be really silly together.  This show is what happens when you leave the two of them unsupervised. Their only goal is that you have as much fun watching them as they have when they are improvising together.

FRIDAY • AUGUST 21 • 9pm

BROWN SUGAR  &  NO SEX & THE CITY

Brown Sugar is a Portland-based BIPOC improv team, currently serving a residency at Kickstand Comedy for a monthly indie showcase, Velodrome. Formed in 2025, this team has been performing in the metro area (and beyond!) and bringing a relationship & character-focused lens to improv. The team consists of Alé Martinez, D’Guar, Dyvisha Gordon, Laz Romankiw, Michelle Dorantes, Monel Chang, and Nicholle Ortiz and each brings their own lived experiences and sense of community to the stage.

No Sex and the City is the queer improv duo of Roland and Mariah, who have been improvising together for over a decade. Their shared history fuels sharp relational comedy, absurd characters, and delightfully messy explorations of love, lust, friendship, and everything in between.

SATURDAY • AUGUST 22 • 7pm

FOR GINGER  &  STEPDADDIES

Relish in the shenanigans of a gathering gone awry as seasoned improvisers mix their love of all things comedy and cuisine in this delicious feast–taking true stories from the metro food scene to inspire a fully improvised dinner party!

Stepdaddies are here to provide the love and validation you always needed. Featuring Matt Berger, Ryan King, Sky McLeod, Katelyn Michelson, and Justin Ulbrich, these Daddies have performed all around town and promise they won’t “go out for cigarettes” and never come back.

NEW IN TOWN  &  OOH LA LA

We’re New in Town, and we’ve been doing improv comedy since before you* were born!  For us, ‘new in town’ isn’t just a label you get when you move to a new city — it’s a state of being. To be new in town is to be released from the burden of knowing which cross-street the Safeway is on; unshackled from the oppression of cataloguing the best Thai takeout spots; and felicitously free from every dating faux pas you ever made. Don’t make the city you live in your whole personality: rather, choose to be fun, mysterious, and exciting! Remember, anytime you leave town and come back, you too can choose to be new in town. From the bottom of our hearts, New in Town can’t wait to be Old Friends with you!

*depending on when you were born

Ooh La La is an all-women improv group known for their podcast-style opening. Fresh from their show at the London Improv Festival, Ooh La La brings a fun improv performance full of eccentric characters and zany situations.

DANGER DORKS   &   ONE FOOT

Danger Dorks is Matt Roberts and Eric Schniewind, and this dynamic duo is that perfect blend of smart and silly— harnessing all their improv powers and experiences to create scenes and stories that will surprise and delight you.

One Foot is an improv trio featuring Daryl Olson, Brad Fortier, and Shelley Darcy—three seasoned improvisers with decades of life experience and just enough memory left to use it.  Over the years they have accumulated wisdom, a myriad of questionable decisions, and a healthy disregard for taking themselves too seriously and staying in their own lane (except while driving) and they’re putting it all to work on stage.  One Foot explores the joy in aging—finding laughter in life’s transitions, celebrating what comes next, and proving that some things actually do get better with age.

HUNTER TINDLE  &  CURRENT SITUATION

HUNTER TINDLE is the husband-and-wife improv duo of Jenn Hunter and Mark Tindle, who first met the way all healthy relationships begin: making things up together on stage.

Jenn has been improvising since 1999 and has performed with improv legends Greg Proops and Colin Mochrie. In 2015, she delivered a TEDx talk exploring the transformative power of improvisation. Mark began his improv journey in 2010 and has performed with organizations including The Hideout Theatre in Austin, Texas, and Hoopla in London. While living in the UK, he also hosted Duck Duck Goose, London’s longest-running improv jam night.

Offstage, they share a love of puzzles, travel, and culinary adventures. Onstage, they combine decades of experience, sharp storytelling, and a genuine partnership forged through years of saying “yes, and” to each other.

Together they perform The Uncredited, an original format that explores familiar stories through the eyes of the characters history forgot—the waiter who overheard the proposal, the neighbor next door, the cashier, the background extra. By shining a spotlight on the bit roles, Hunter Tindle uncovers the extraordinary stories hiding just outside the frame.

CURRENT SITUATION: A gaggle of Portland improv vets who just have a lot of fun when they hit the improv stage together. Rose Bonomo, Janet Scanlon, Kyle Stebbins, Tony Cohen, Craig McCarthy, Beau Brousseau.
