Bridge City Improv: BENEFIT SHOW!

Chapel Theatre, Milwaukie
Tuesday, April 1st @ 6:30pm

This evening we bring together some of the metro region’s best improv comedians for a fun, family-friendly show– with all ticket proceeds going to benefit the PTA’s Recreation Enhancement Initiative to build several ball courts at Rowe Middle School in Milwaukie.

Rowe is a busy school with a large number of students and somewhat limited facilities. Students frequently express such concerns and teachers and staff agree. With record enrollment and limits on staff size, lunch breaks have become crowded. With limited recreational activities, behavioral issues tend to increase as students get bored. This project consists of a durable asphalt pad large enough to encompass a number of games, including a GaGa Ball pit, tetherball, and volleyball court.

Join us for an evening of unscripted entertainment where each performance is a unique experience. Whether you’re a longtime improv fan or a first-timer, this is a great choice for a fun night out– and for a great cause!

This night features: Bill Cernansky, Craig McCarthy, Thomas Magee, Kerry Leek, Catherine Olson, Erin Cunningham, Lisa Brousseau, Beau Brousseau.

  • Doors at 6pm.
  • Beer, wine, concessions.
  • All ages welcome.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

I always enjoy playing with Bridge City Improv. They curate fantastic, dynamic line-ups featuring some of the most talented improvisers in town. They create stories and characters with great intention, skill, and joy. As a performer, I feel a sense of community at Bridge City Improv shows, and I am grateful for the opportunity to play with such a welcoming and supportive group of improvisers.

— Katie Nguyen, Portland Mercury Geniuses of Comedy, Willamette Week’s Funniest Five

Beau and Lisa are two of the most vibrant and experienced improvisers in Portland. They are bold, physical, and never afraid to run headfirst into a scene to chase what they find fun. When the Brousseaus are on stage, you can’t help but get sucked into the world and characters they bring to life so effortlessly. They are as much a treat to watch as they are to perform with.

— Dylan Reiff, Kickstand Comedy

I hired Bridge City Improv to prank my friends and family at our post-wedding party of 100+ people, and I was amazed! We worked together to curate a character as my mom’s local handyman, how it would play out, who would be in on it, and how the reveal would go down. It was amazing to see him mingle, working the crowd to create funny little memories for everyone, all leading up to a hilarious toast when we let the secret out. I totally scored with Bridge City Improv.

— Andrew Barr, client/customer

Bridge City Improv brings together combinations of some of the finest Portland improvisers to create performances that are smart, funny, unpredictable, and joyous. They’re not afraid to address the human condition head on, but also are not afraid to just get completely silly.

— Barbara Scott, founding member of BATS Improv, San Francisco

Thank you for a fantastic night of long-form improvised theater…. Bridge City’s shows will always give you a great night out and what improv can and should be…. You can expect a top-quality performance drawing from a large and experienced talent pool. I’ve seen a LOT of improv in the Portland area and Bridge City productions are the cream of the crop.
